Heaven

What an amazing experience. Lake Powell DID NOT DISAPPOINT!! We had so much fun. We parked on the beach but then realized some people went way down on the beach. We were happy enough up on the rocky part and not get stuck. It was a brief walk down. Beautiful views all around. We rented Kayaks from Lake Powell paddle boards and kayaks, fair priced and good amount of time! Rock jumping in the lake was amazing. We would absolutely love to come back. 4 stars only because water was off, wish we had known that. Also, we did see some people get stuck so proceed with caution.

Beach Parking

We stayed here for two nights 3/21 and 3/22. We parked down on the beach. The water was still shut off so bring plenty. Dump station open, no water to flush tanks. Like others have stated this is not for the faint of heart. Even with a 4 wheel drive this can be tricky. One minute you are driving on hard pack then the next loose sand. It is well worth it though if you can make it down. The views are stunning. Was not crowded, with plenty of room between everyone. Will definitely stay hear again when we visit Lake Powell.

Life Was Good

Motorhome traveled. Pros: beautiful park, awesome view of canyons, best kayaking ever, night sky was unbelievable, price to stay is nearly nothing, close to antelope & horseshoe. Cons: near by cattle spread Oder, no water anywhere in month of February themed off during winter, noisy off road toys allowed.

Nice!

It's a nice place, you can camp anywhere, however going down to the beach requires courage or an AWD due to the sand. The fee is additionally to the entrance to the national park. Interagency pass is valid. There's a dump station, water and vault toilets and an outside shower to get rid of the sand. Lots of space, no size limit for RVs. We parked not on the beach, but higher, where it was very peaceful and had a great view and didn't risk getting stuck in the sand. The dump station is also up there.

Camp Site Or RV City?

We pulled into here for an overnight stop in mid June. I'm sure during certain times of year this spot is lovely, but that was not our experience. Finding any sort of water access was all but impossible since there were hundreds of people there. This was the exact opposite of my idea of camping or boondocking. At least it was so constantly noisy nobody would look at you funny for running a generator. Hot so slept with windows open and could still hear children running around and screaming at 1am. I'd stay here again if I knew there wasn't gonna be anyone here. Maybe winter.

Nobody was there at this time of the year! Amazing view direct on the beach!

Land Of Sand And Partying

One of the most unique places to experience. And worth the trip. Lots of RVs that camped caravan style. Easy for vehicles to get hung up in sand. We tent camped in July. Hot, hot, hot!! Lake water was refreshing. Overall, reminded me of a NASCAR event. Lots of noise, people watching. Would I go again? Probably not. But I was so glad we fell into this camp site area. A bucket list experience!

Lone Rock, Lone Howl

Drove here at night and the kiosk allowed us to pay for the night. We couldn't see the layout or how deep the sand so we stayed on the pavement. $14 is ok. Better to boondock in this beautiful nature, then the rude chaos down at the RV park in town. There are restrooms, plenty of people around, and countless stars to the horizon ...and coyotes!
